Your Instructor:

Zi is a freelance illustrator and tattoo artist from Columbus, Ohio.  Zi graduated from the Columbus School of Art and Design with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree.  Growing up in North LInden, Columbus, Zi has experienced both the negative and positive by-products of her environment. She has witnessed both the effects of drugs and violence while also finding hope for change through her community and their outreach.  Reflecting her emotions and the emotions of others her work speaks for the unspoken for.  You can find Zi either at her private tattoo studio painting both commission pieces and contemporary pieces for herself or teaching art to elementary school students in an after school program.  Zi hopes to inspire others through her work and outreach.

Zi’sTeaching Philosophy:

I believe that there are no mistakes with making art, everyone has the potential to be an artist in their own right, and art is a beautiful form of expression everyone can enjoy. I can give you tips and techniques on how to create, but the beauty of the craft is already in you!
