Class Description

Dody Bowman has been making and selling jewelry even before she got hooked on glass fusing! This necklace is her all time best seller. The focal piece on this necklace is a silver Greek Worry Fish in 6 sections. Between each section we will add a round sea glass bead. The total length of this Worry fish piece is 2.5 inches. You may add to that charms, sea glass beads in several colors and shapes, crystal pave beads (for bling lovers), and so much more. There will be literally hundreds of pieces for you to choose from to add to your necklace. If you have a favorite charm or small piece at home you'd like to add to this necklace, bring it! Your choice of silver coated chain in 18 or 24 inch is included. Sea glass beads are man made. In this class you'll make one necklace. But wait, there's more - Dody is adding a bonus offer on this class - if you would like to make one for you and one for a friend, you can do that by selecting the two necklace option to make a second necklace for an additional $15. This is a fun piece that really gets noticed! About your instructor: Dody Bowman was first introduced to warm glass while she was teaching ceramics at the Kapalua Art School, Kapalua, Maui. She loved what you can do with glass and made her living the next 18 years on Maui selling her beautiful glass work in galleries, art fairs and craft events. To continue to learn and grow, she’s taken glass fusing classes with legendary glass artist, Patty Gray, and Master Class fusing with Tonya Veit, AAE Glass, whose work she admires. Dody has been actively firing glass for 25 years. Dody’s teaching philosophy: I want you to experiment and do your own thing art wise, while using my knowledge and experience to guide you on making a piece that will last forever. I want to help you learn the basics of glass, not only to have fun, but to create an amazing piece of your own. Through experimenting with combining colors and thicknesses of glass, I’ll help you understand what happens in the kiln and why.
