Class Description

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Just in time to catch the holiday spirit without interrupting your season with family, Artist and Writing Instructor Heather Reese has a most delightful experience planned for you to discover (or re-discover) your passion for creative writing. You are in for surprises galore! Imagine holiday lights...Christmas music...nostalgic charcuterie and wine around a toasty campfire, and time....time to unwind, regroup, write and create. If this sounds like your dream retreat, you belong here! Join Heather as she leads 6 deserving women on a festive creative writing and artistic adventure you will never forget. While you will receive a detailed itinerary, there are also many surprises waiting for you as you make new friends and take home incredible experiences that will stay with you forever. This creative holiday get-a-way is only held ONCE a year, as a perfect kick start to the season! Friday, Nov. 21st noon-Nov. 23rd at noon. Retreat Total = $570. Half due when booking ($285) the other half will be due by Nov. 1st. You will receive an email with a link to pay the remainder due prior to the due date. Participants must book by Nov. 14th. - Adult Women Only - Maximum number of participants: 6 - 2 Women to a room, 1 Queen Bed per room. - All Meals provided About your Instructor: Heather Reese has enjoyed a lengthy career as a self-taught visual and performance artist for over 20 years, as well as art educator and certified art therapy practitioner. She has taught well over a thousand classes and workshops for schools and non-profit organizations, using art as a channel toward healing and growth. Recently, Reese has taken a pivotal turn in her creative career and her first of four (poetry) books will be released in August of 2024, followed by three more by September of 2025. Her passion to help women with PTSD and mental health challenges due to trauma led her to host 3-day women's creative healing retreats, which began in October of 2022, with 10 on the books between October 2024 and December 2025. Most of all, Reese loves to empower others to discover their authentic self through the power of words. Whether through journaling, poetry or recitation, Reese instructs in a style that allows her students the freedom to breathe, create and be heard. Heather has been the recipient of multiple grants, through GCAC of central Ohio, and Woodmen Life. She was also chosen for TedX talks, Columbus Women, in 2016.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel up to 7 days prior to the retreat and will receive a 50% refund, less the 5% service fee. If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the class date, you will not receive a refund. You may pass along your booking to a friend or family member by emailing info@artdock.org and include the replacement’s name and email.
