Abstract Art for Teens Course (13-17)

Class Description

Perfect for young artists who wish to unlock their creative potential and are interested in exploring this fascinating medium. This four-class series works for both beginners with a keen curiosity in painting and drawing and intermediate artists looking for fresh, fun ideas! We will study the principles of color, line, and mood; Look at shape, space, and value; Discover basic abstract compositions in the style of an Abstract Master (Picasso, Kandinsky, Burridge, and Lichtenstein). Needed Supplies: Your instructor Rebecca Booth will provide canvases, special papers, panels and paints. Students will need to bring: - 12-piece Art Studio Marker set (half brush, half marker) - Sketch pad - 9"x 12" minimum - Kneaded eraser, Ruler, #2 pencil - Four photos from magazines or personal photos of pet/animal; self-portrait About your instructor: Rebecca has been a pastel painter for over 30 years and has worked with acrylics for the past six years. She started Arty Parties to Go in 2014 and has taught countless students. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University. In this region, Rebecca has had several awards of mention for her paintings and has won over 27 Crystal Awards of Excellence for her creative work at her marketing company, "Imagine That". Rebecca's teaching philosophy: My goal is to show people that, they too, can be an artist. I truly believe that everyone has talent - they just need to slow down, adopt a positive attitude and practice what they learn. With Art Dock, I offer painting classes for both intermediate painters and beginners.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your class up to 5 days prior to the class date to receive a refund, less the 5% service fee. If you cancel less than 5 days prior to the class date, you will not receive a refund. You may pass along your booking to a friend or family member by emailing info@artdock.org and include the replacement’s name and email.
